Panel Removal & Reinstall

New roof coming? Don't let just anyone touch your solar.

Roofers don't remove solar — and they shouldn't. We professionally detach your system, store it safely, coordinate with your roofing crew, and reinstall everything once the new roof is on. Your warranty, wiring, and production protected start to finish.

Why It Matters Who Does This

Detach & reset done wrong means cracked panels, voided warranties, roof leaks at the mounts, and a system that never produces like it used to. Done right, it's seamless.

Master Electricians

Your system is safely de-energized, disconnected, and recommissioned by licensed electricians — not a roofing laborer guessing at the wiring.

Safe Handling & Storage

Panels are removed, labeled, and stored protected on site or off — every panel goes back exactly where it came from.

Roofer Coordination

We work directly with your roofing company on timing so your roof isn't sitting exposed and the project doesn't stall.

New Flashing & Sealing

Mounts are reinstalled with new flashing and sealing on your brand-new roof — done right so it never leaks.

Full Recommission

System is tested, re-energized, and verified producing before we leave. You get confirmation it's performing like before.

Insurance-Friendly Paperwork

Detailed quotes and documentation for insurance claims — most roof replacements after storm damage cover detach & reset.

How It Works

Quote & schedule

Send us your system size and roofing timeline. We quote the job and lock in dates on both ends.

Removal day

We de-energize, disconnect, and remove panels and racking — typically done in a day for most homes.

Your roof goes on

The roofers work on a clear roof — faster for them, cheaper for you, and no one steps on a panel.

Reinstall & power up

New flashing, panels back in place, system recommissioned and verified producing.

Common Questions

Can't my roofer just take the panels off?

Most roofers won't touch them — and if they do, you're risking your equipment warranty and your safety. Solar systems carry live DC voltage and require proper electrical disconnection. This is electrician work.

How long is my system down?

Only as long as the roofing takes. We typically remove the day before roofing starts and reinstall right after it's done — most homes are back producing within days.

You didn't install my system. Can you still do it?

Yes — we remove and reinstall systems from any installer. We'll confirm your equipment before quoting.

Will this void my solar warranty?

Done by licensed professionals with proper documentation, no. Done by unlicensed hands, it absolutely can. We document the system condition before and after.

Does insurance cover this?

If your roof is being replaced through an insurance claim (storm or hail damage), detach & reset is commonly part of the claim. We provide the itemized quote your adjuster needs.
